Huawei Mate X

during the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, the Chinese Huawei presented the foldable Huawei Mate X Interstellar Blue. The Mate X can be used as a phone, but turns into an 8-inch tablet when you open it, which is ideal for watching movies and series, or multitasking!

This foldable smartphone is packed with the latest hardware. There's a powerful Kirin 980 processor, a generous 512GB of storage space, and a 4500mAh battery. The device comes with three cameras on the back, has room for two SIM cards, and runs on Android 9 Pie.

From smartphone to tablet

Huawei is not the first to have a foldable device, but is still making history with this striking Mate X. The idea of a foldable smartphone is still in its infancy, but this is an impressive result nevertheless.

When you fold up the Huawei Mate X, you'll have a screen on both sides. When you open the device, the front 6.6-inch display turns into an impressive 8.8-inch unit. With this size, you can enjoy your favourite Netflix series even more, or you can easily run multiple apps next to each other!

AMOLED razor-sharp display

Huawei has chosen a foldable AMOLED panel for the dark blue Mate X. When you unfold the Mate X, the screen resolution is 2480 by 2200 pixels. This high resolution ensures beautiful, sharp images with lots of colour contrast!

Excellent performance

Under the hood of the Mate X, the HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor is fitted, which was developed by Huawei themselves. This processor is energy-efficient and delivers lightning-fast performance, so the Mate X lets you perform any task with ease!

More than enough storage space

The standard Mate X comes with 512GB of internal storage. This is a large amount where you can easily store multiple Netflix seasons, Spotify playlists, and movie trilogies. Are you running out of space? You can easily increase the capacity with an NM card.

Three cameras on the back

In collaboration with Leica, three cameras have been placed on the back of the Mate X. This setup consists of a 40-megapixel wide-angle lens, a secondary 16-megapixel wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. This setup can zoom in without loss of detail and captures even more on screen!

A large battery and super-fast charging

Huawei has opted for a large 4500mAh battery in order to supply power to this large device. This battery provides a lot of power, so you can easily reach the end of the day on a single battery charge. You can charge the battery very quickly thanks to the quick-charge feature.

Dual SIM to separate private and business

The Huawei Mate X Blue is a dual smartphone. This means that you can place two SIM cards in the phone, and you can then be reached on two phone numbers at the same time. This might come in handy if you often travel abroad or if you like to keep your work and private life separate on one phone.

Fast fingerprint scanner
